3-17-7 is a 2004 Pierce Lance 1500 GPM side-mount pumper. This engine alternates with 3-17-5 as the primary response vehicle for alarms in West Islip for Mohawk Engine Company. It is equipped with "TAK-4" independent front suspension making negotiating turns a bit easier. It is also equipped with multiple state of the art tools useful in fire suppression techniques, and has a combination cutter/spreader like 3-17-5.
